Short Biography of Anna Hazare
Story of Army Driver becoming the Father of Nation Bigger than Bharat Ratna
Name - Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare known as Anna Hazare
Birth date - 15 January 1940
Anna Hazare was born in Bhingar village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state in western India to Baburao Hazare and Laxmi Bai, an unskilled labourer family
He was raised by his childless aunt in Mumbai but could not continue beyond VII standard and had to quit midway due to problems.
He has two sisters.
He is unmarried.
1963
Anna Hazare started his career as a driver in the Indian Army.
During his 15-year tenure as a soldier, he was posted to several states like Sikkim, Bhutan, Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, Mizoram, Leh and Ladakh and braved challenging weathers.
Anna was greatly influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
In the year 1965, Pakistan attacked India and at that time, Hazare was posted at the Khemkaran border. On November 12, 1965, Pakistan launched air attacks on Indian base and all of Hazare’s comrades became martyrs
In 1978, he took voluntary retirement from the 9th Maratha Battalion
After serving 15 Years in Army Anna took the voluntary retirement and returned to his native place in Ralegan Siddhi, in the Parner tehsil of Ahmednagar district.
Ralegan Siddhi falls in the drought-prone area with a mere 400 to 500 mm of annual rainfall.
There were no weirs to retain rainwater.
During the month of April and May, water tankers were the only means of drinking water.
Almost 80 per cent of the villagers were dependent on other villages for food grains. Residents used to walk for more than four to six kilometers in search of work
Hazare came across the work of one Vilasrao Salunke, a resident of Saswad near Pune who had started a novel project of water management through watershed development in a joint venture with the Gram Panchyat. Hazare visited the project and decided to implement it in Ralegan Siddhi.
He steered the villagers to begin working towards water conservation.
At the outset, they completed 48 Nala Bunding work, contour trenches, staggered trenches, gully plugs, meadows development and of forestation of 500 hectares of land. Thereafter, they constructed five RCC weirs and 16 Gabion Weirs.
This resulted in increase in the ground water level.
Hazare’s Ralegan Siddhi became the first role model of an ideal village from the worst village to an ideal village.
Anna rightly thought that Development is marred by corruption and started a new venture in 1991 called Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Aandolan (BVJA) or public movement against corruption.
It was found that some 42 forest officers had duped the state government for crores of rupees through corruption in confederacy.
Hazare submitted the evidences to the government but the latter was reluctant to take action against all these officers as one of the ministers of the ruling party was involved in the scam.
A distressed Hazare returned the Padmashree Award to the President of India and also returned the Vriksha Mitra Award given by then prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.
He further went on an indefinite hunger strike in Alandi on the same issue.
Finally, the government woke up and took action against the criminal and corrupt officers as well as six of the ministers were forced to resign and more than 400 officers from different government offices were sent back to home.
In 1995 Shiv Sena-BJP government came to power in the state
Hazare raised the issue of alleged massive land purchase by Gholap's wife Shashikala in Nashik between April to September 1996.
He forwarded the available documentary evidences in support of his allegations to then Maharashtra Governor P. C. Alexander
On 4 November 1997, Gholap filed a defamation suit against Hazare for accusing him of corruption.
On 9 September 1998, Anna Hazare was imprisoned in the Yerawada Jail after being sentenced to simple imprisonment for three months by the Mumbai Metropolitan Court all political parties, every one from Maharashtra except the BJP and the Shiv Sena came in support of him
Later due to public protest, outcry the Government of Maharashtra ordered his release from the jail.
The state government has opened cooperative societies, credit societies & urban banks everywhere in states.
However, the directors of such societies do the corruption and failed to pay back the basic amount to the members of the societies.
Thus poor people get cheated when Anna saw this he again began his agitation against this.

The result was that more than Rs 125 crore was recovered from defaulters and the members of such societies heaved a sigh of relief.

When Anna saw that Government is not willing to pass this law Anna went on an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan in the last week of July 2003.
After 12 days of Hunger strike in Azad Maidan the President of India signed the draft of the Right to Information Act and ordered the state government to implement it with effect from 2002. The same draft was considered as the base document for the making of the National Right to Information Act-2005.

Employment onus on India
Employment onus on India
India will need to generate at least 5.5 crore additional jobs by 2015 if it wants to maintain the current ratio of employed people to total population, a study done by Crisil Research said today.
The study, Employment in India ' Uneven and Weak, said this number of 5.5 crore would be twice the number of jobs created during 2005-10 and that creating these jobs would pose a challenge without adequate policy support. While the current ratio of employed people to the total population stands at 39 per cent, the number of 5.5 crore also comes after accounting for many people employed today either retiring or losing their jobs.
According to the study, despite higher economic growth in the second half of 2000s, the country has been unable to generate sufficient number of jobs in manufacturing and services. For instance, the GDP growth increased to 8.6 per cent during 2005-10 from 6 per cent during 2000-05, but the net addition to jobs remained almost flat at around 2.7 crore during these two periods.
"While net additions to jobs during the second half of the 2000 decade have been higher than the much-discussed two million number, this is clearly not enough to ensure inclusive growth," it said.
Crisil said if the country wanted a solution in this regard, it should look at other countries, including China. The study noted large scale labour-intensive manufacturing units are a rarity in India, since the real cost of employing labour is high.
Moreover, it is also virtually impossible for a manufacturing company with more than 100 employees to fire any employee even if it is facing bankruptcy. Therefore, demand for labour has not increased fast enough in manufacturing.
However, in the service sector, particularly in high-skilled services such as financial intermediation and business services, there is a shortage of skilled labour that is constraining job creation.

Google to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 bln
Setting its sights on rival Apple Inc, Google Inc announced its biggest deal ever, a $12.5 billion cash acquisition of mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc .
Google's biggest foray into hardware comes weeks after a failed attempt to buy patents from bankrupt Nortel, and gives it an intellectual property library in wireless telephony to wage war on Apple and Microsoft Corp.
But in buying Motorola, the Internet giant risks alienating the hardware partners that license its free Android software. Google CEO Larry Page sought to calm the jitters by stressing on Monday that Android will remain open to all.
"The danger is that other handset makers feel disenfranchised," said Nomura Securities global technology specialist Richard Windsor.
"Motorola is the weaker player. This could actually collapse the entire community."
Shares of Motorola Mobility jumped 59 percent, while Nokia's stock gained more than 10 percent on speculation the Finnish mobile company is now an acquisition target.
The deal -- which took Wall Street by surprise -- appears to mark a shift in strategy for a company that had focused on shoring up its Internet search and advertising empire with forays into video and social networking.
After being shut out of Nortel deal, Google Chief Legal Officer David Drummond wrote a blog post accusing Microsoft, Apple, Oracle Corp of colluding to buy up patents and curtail growth of its Android mobile operating system.
Page echoed Drummond's blog post on a conference call, saying Motorola has a strong patent portfolio that will protect Android from "anti-competitive threats."
SMARTPHONE MARKET
While Apple's iPhone is one the most talked about phones in history, Android has managed to surpass it as the market leader by winning the support of numerous phone makers including Motorola's bigger rival Samsung Electronics Co .
Android controlled about 43.4 percent of the smartphone market at the end of the second quarter, ahead of Nokia with 22 percent, according to Gartner data. Apple ranked third with 18 percent, the data showed.
As part of the deal, Google also gets Motorola's set-top box businesses, giving its nascent TV operation a much-needed boost by providing it with a more direct route into the home.
The deal values Motorola Mobility at $40 per share in cash, a 63 percent premium to its Friday closing price on the New York Stock Exchange. The deal features a rich reverse breakup fee of $2.5 billion, according to a source close to the situation.
"It's a deal that will take time to pay off, but they have a lot of cash and they want to chase after profit," BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis said, referring to the fact that Android has not been profitable thus far.
Given his status as Motorola's largest shareholder, the deal represents a big win for activist investor Carl Icahn.
Google to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 bln
He has urged Motorola to consider splitting off its patent portfolio to cash in on surging interest in wireless technology. As of July, Icahn held an 11.36 percent stake in the company.
In a statement, Icahn said the deal is "a great outcome for all shareholders of Motorola Mobility."
Google, which plans to run Motorola Mobility as a separate business, said the deal will close by the end of 2011 or early in 2012, and requires regulatory approvals in the United States, European Union and other areas, as well as the blessing of Motorola Mobility's shareholders.
Lazard advised Google on the deal, while Motorola used Centerview Partners and Frank Quattrone's Qatalyst Partners, sources told Reuters.

These special courts are supposed to ensure completion of each trial within an year of the filing of the case.
The Lokpal is not meant to inquire into any complaint made against the Chairperson or any member and any complaint against the Chairperson or a member shall be made by an application by the party aggrieved, to the president. Are you really HAPPY...??
Are you really HAPPY...?? Check this article to know true facts
Hey friends,Are you really Happy?? Just ask this question to yourself....What ever might be the answer,Just go through this article and at the end, check out if the first answer you have made for the question at the starting matches with the answer at the end of teh article..Click read more...!
Do you remember some of your beautiful childhood memories? Do you remember the joy you felt all the times you played with your friends? Do you remember how fast you used to become angry, and how fast you forgot what you were angry about? OK, one more… Do you remember how happy you were when you ate candy? When we were kids being happy came easy. What about now? Are you happy? As children we could have answered this question without hesitation. What happened to us?
I shared the same question with a friend who seems to have it all. He answered with great enthusiasm, "Of course I'm happy, I have everything I always dreamed of having." Few seconds later he said, "but I believe I could be truly happy if only I had a better wife ..." Well, psychologist’s philosophers, parents, poets, and many others have tried answering this question, since it is a simple yet complex question. But to me, happiness is something different for each individual. Happiness can be something uncertain or difficult to achieve, but overall, it is attainable.
I cannot remember how many times I was asked this question. Neither do I remember how many times I asked myself the same question. "Are you happy?" The truth is that nobody can answer that question better than you, yourself, can. Don’t be a pessimist! Did you think I would give you the answer so easily? Allow me to ask a question: Why do you wake up each morning? (Money, love, health, obligation, fame, family, ect.)
A man of 43 years of age, with a family, and good job, but he was always sad. Yet no one understood the reason for his sadness. In prayers he asked God to send him lots of money, to enjoy when he became old. Early Sunday morning, he went into the forest to pray. On his return home, he found a small old chest in the bushes. Once he opened the small old chest, he noticed it was full of gold coins. Overwhelmingly happy, he placed the box inside his jacket, and with great excitement he ran home. After digging a deep hole behind his house —not sharing his discovery with anyone— he buried the chest. That afternoon his wife and children saw the new happiness in his face and even though they didn’t understand it, they welcome his positive change.
Yet, that evening robbers who followed him that morning, dug up the small old chest that was buried. Then the robbers quickly covered the hole, exactly as the man himself had previously left it. Months passed and the man was much happier everyday, leaving everyone to wonder the reason for his change. Later, due to his dedication and skills he became the boss of bosses. Everyday he thought of his wealth, while enjoying his family, his job, and his friendships. Without noticing that the small old chest was gone, every day he gave thanks to God for his blessings. As years went by he grew older, and continued to enjoy the blessings in his life. Then one Sunday morning, he passed away in his sleep.
You can choose to be the small chest, the robber, or the happy man. You can always choose to be happy or unhappy. You can choose to enjoy today, complain about the life which you live now, or change your life to what you want it to be. Whether you wish to exercise your happiness or not, the final decision is yours. To take this a little further, here are three questions you should ask yourself:
1 - What happiness means to me? To be happy, you have to define it and understand what it means to you. 2 - Do I enjoy the person I am today? Do you respect or like the person you see in front of your mirror? Learn to forgive and accept what you are today, if you haven’t yet. 3 - Do I give thanks for the things I already have? Be thankful for all you already have in your life (health, life, love, etc.).
If you try to blame the past, destiny, the universe, God, or others for the lack of happiness you have experience now, you will not find true happiness. If you are now happy or unhappy, this is because you decided it. Let me give you an example: If I offer you candy, and you do not accept it, you are the one who chooses not to enjoy the delicious candy. However, if you accept the candy, and you do not thank me, I may not feel the desire to offer you more of my delicious candy in the future. Happiness works likewise. If you stop for a moment and make calculations regarding the decisions you've made, you may realize that they have brought you exactly where you are today. It is all based on your actions, thoughts, and words.
"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present." (Jim Rohn)
Therefore, everything you think, speak, or practice in the present affects your future. The good news is that if you're not happy now, you can change it. Be happy by changing the way you think, and act towards your own life. Your destiny is in your hands, not in the hands of your significant other, your parents, your boss, or your friends. God, the universe, your divine creator, is ready to give you everything you desire, and even more than you can imagine. But it's your choice to accept the candy called happiness if you want it, and when you want it.
If you are about to cross a bridge, do not think about the gap underneath the bridge; Think about what you will feel after crossing that bridge. Decide to be happy, and always be honest with yourself. Give thanks for what you already have today, and tomorrow you may have much more to be thankful for. Always remember, you deserve to be happy!
SO guys and galzz....Friends and folks.....Just rock your life...Live as if there is no tomorrow...Enjoy every moment of life...Be happy and make others happy...Keep rocking...!

Do's Dont's for all Zodiac Signs
Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 19)
DO'S
Aries are naturally active and vibrant people and they tend to like such people too. You will have to increase your pace to be in step with them. They like and appreciate frank and straightforward persons. With them you can be your true self (but don't try your luck being over frank-they are volatil e). If you are in love with an Arian, then you have to show your enthusiasm in all their activities (you can always yawn later!).
DON'TS
Do not tell an Aries that s/he may be wrong. Any such statement may stir a storm in a teacup. Aries are very faithfu l and passionate lovers. Do not give air to the smoldering fire within them by making them jealous. No flirtation or fooling around with others in their presence unless of course you wish to write your death wish (you will be granted!).
Taurus (Apr 20 - May 20)
DO'S
Stability and dependability characterize Taurus. They like people who can blend and grow with them. If you have a Taurus partner you should appreciate all things bright and beautiful. They have an inherent artistic sense and are fond of color and music. Judge life with them from a p urely materialistic point of view. Enjoy everything luxurious that money can provide. Enjoy good food (better if you can cook to please them) and good drinks with them.
DON'TS
Taurus do not loose their temper easily (in fact you may spend the whole life with them and still no spark) but you should not push your luck too much. Being unreasonable or aggressive with them may get you into trouble. Do not press him/her into a corner, and if you do, be prepared for a violent rage. Taurus is capable of violent outbursts though such an event is is very rare occasions. They can be suffocating when they are possessive about you.
Gemini (May 21 - June 21)
DO'S
Gemini is a highly intellectual and versatile person. If you have a Gemini partner you have to match your wits with his/her wits to keep the zing in the relationship. They want to be mentally stimulated so you have to be good at conversing. Your sense of humor will get you a permanent residence in the heart of a Gemini. Be more communicative with them, a nd if you are good at this, you will never know how hours pass by holding each other's hand.
DON'TS
Gemini's like to do many things at the same time, so if unfortunately you are the type who is looking for stability you may get disappointed. Do not hold back a Gemini or you may lose him/her, as they are restless and need change in life constantly. You should try to adopt yourself with the ever-changing Gemini. Orthodox or conservative old fashion ideas are no-no in their dictionary. Change with the ever -changing Gemini and do not flow against the current .
Cancer (Jun22 - July 22)
DO'S
Try to adapt yourself with the changing moods of the Cancer. At one moment they may be laughing and enjoying and in another they may sulk. You may have to adjust with the moody and sensitive Cancer. They are like the tides in the ocean, always fluctuating. Cancerians love food, so if you know how to cook and can be poetic and romantic (added Bonus) then you know the way to their heart.
DON'TS
Cancerians are very sensitive people and can get easily hurt. So do not play with their emotions and sentiments. They are like tides that can sweep you along. They form emotional bonds with even inanimate things, so do not ask them to discard old caps or souvenirs. Such things hold special meaning to them. You have to realize that the crabs have a soft heart and are vulnerable. Do not contradict their tested line of thought and action, it would only lead to confusion.
Leo (July 23 - Aug 22)
DO'S
If you have Leo partner respect him and his majestic manners. Accept the advice of Leo, the lion, as he is the kin g of the jungle. It is the sign of a showman, so if your partner does everything in grand style enjoy it. They fall easily for flattery and want to be center of attraction of all eyes (sometimes they can be quiet theatrical too).
DON'TS
Never ever hurt the ego of a Leo. Pride, ego and vanity are some of the bags Leo's always carry with them. Do not touch these bags. An authoritative Leo is even more difficult to handle in such circumstances. Leo is a sunny sign so they do not like people who are gloomy or depressed. Even if you are crying at heart keep a sunny smile on your lips and then let the lion take charge and remove all worries from your life.
Virgo (Aug 23 - Sept22)
DO'S
Virgo's are very methodical and have a great sense of duty. However, they are blind to their own faults. So, if you have a Virgo partner emphasize more on their qualities. Take keen interest in what they are doing and you will realize that they will go out of their way to help you. Do rely and appreciate their mental powers rather than their physical powers. They can turn even an unsuccessful venture into a success.
DON'TS
Do not push a Virgo into limelight or on the center stage unless of course they do so on their own. They are shy and reserved by nat ure and do not like to be the cynosure of all eyes. Virgo's have secrets that they would not like to bring out in the open. So, even if you have the key to their secret skeleton-closet, hide it; do not even admit that you know anything about it. Virgo, th e virgins, do not want to tarnish their public image.
Libra (Sep 22 - Oct 23)
DO'S
Librans need peace and harmony in all their relationships, so help them maintain that. Venus, the ruling planet, gives them beauty and they have weakness for people who can compliment them about their beauty (you will not have to make an effort to do that anyway). You can help Libra seek union and partnership in life. If you have a Libra partner you can be sure to share beautiful and pleasurable moments together.
DON'TS
Libra is kind and gentle soul but very argumentative. Hence, do not start an argument or discussion unless, of course, you are free and do not know how to pass your time. They hate to lose and most probably during an argument may change sides too (remem ber scales can tilt) and still continue arguing from the other side. Do not push your Libra partner into making decisions. They will keep weighing pros and cons and may still not be able to come to any decision. Have patience !
Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)
DO'S
Scorpio's are full of passion and zest for life. They have tremendous drive that can involve you too. Tune in to their wavelength and you can enjoy the harmony and music of life with them. Scorpio's are loyal and never forget a kind deed done by you. If you want to enjoy life with your Scorpio lover, share their passion and intensity and you will be fascinated by how beautiful life can be with them.
DON'TS
Scorpio's are very passionate and intense but they are also fiercely possessive and would like to possess your mind, body and soul. Do not let seeds of jealousy grow in them because then you may have to suffer agonies of jealousy and discontentment in life. Scorpio's have explosive tem pers be careful how you handle them. They never let anyone know what is going on in their mind till they strike and you may be caught unaware. Do not flirt around in the presence of your Scorpio lover.
Sagittarius (Nov 22 - Dec 21)
DO'S
Sagittarius is basically a happy go lucky kind. You can enjoy with them their zest and enthusiasm for life. They bubble with excitement. And if you share the same interests and hobbies, life can be great fun together. They are frank and straightforward so if you want some truthful opinion about anything or anyone go to them. Be optimistic as they are and view life as glass half full.
DON'TS
Sagittarius is fiercely independent and cannot tolerate restriction. Hence, do not try to hold them back in life. Let them enjoy their freedom because if you hold any special place in their heart they will always come back for you. Do not feel irritated by the exaggeration in their speech. They ma y go on and on, talking about certain things that may not even interest you, but its their way of trying to communicate with you. They are basically frank and outspoken (to the point of being rude), so do not feel offended by their talks .
Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
DO'S
Capricornians are strong and dependable. Hence, if you want to put your money on anyone it is of course this zodiac sign. They are practical and conservative in their outlook and they expect you to blend in their color. They set certain standards for themselves in their life and they will always try to maintain those standards. For them social status and image is very important in life.
DON'TS
Do not expect a Capricorn mate to open his/her heart and pour everything t o you. They are very secretive and reserved people. They are very thorough in all their affairs and hate any kind of sloppiness. People born under this zodiac are very tight-fisted and economical. Do not expect lavish gifts from them and if they do give y ou any gift (that is very rare) it will have some practical use (no romance please) but that does not mean you will be deprived of anything; on the contrary you will be well provided .
Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 21)
DO'S
Aquarius are friendly and fascinating people. They have in-depth knowledge about various subjects and you can converse with them for hours without getting bored. They are capable of giving a lot of love tha t can be amazing. They have a very broad outlook of life and you can relax in their presence. They will always welcome your ideas and actions about humanitarian causes. To keep an Aquarius lover interested you must possess that mysterious and intriguing q uality. Once hooked they will always be very faithful to you.
DON'TS
Do not expect or plan a normal, simple and predictable life with an Aquarius partner. Aquarians are totally unpredictable. They can go to any direction without giving any advance notic e. They are basically very restless and get bored easily. Though they are very friendly, do not expect them to reveal their inner most feelings to you (they never will). They can be detached and impersonal, which may seem strange to others.
Pisces (Feb 22 - Mar 21)
DO'S
Pisceans are sensitive and charming. If you are looking for someone who is understanding and can understand your feelings then you have met the right person. You should appreciate their feelings too, as in your time of need they are sure to help you. Pisces have a keenly developed sixth sense and have great intuitive powers. Their hunches may usually be right on mar k. But they can exhaust their physical and mental energies. They are born dreamers and you can build palaces with your dream lover (only in real life it may become a little difficult preposition).
DON'TS
Pisces are dreamers and you should not expect them to have worldly ambitions. They are not materialistic in nature. It is not that they like living below the poverty line but they have no earnest desire to accumulate wealth. They are very sensitive and you have to be always careful about their feelings. The fishes are capable of drowning you in their tears (even men born under this sign) .
